Why are my campaigns not spending?

There are cases in which the ads are not spending, and an error might not show to explain why the ad/campaign is not spending. This article will list and explain these reasons.

The budget you’ve set for your campaign is a daily budget, which means that amount should be spent every day. However, there are cases in which the ads are not spending, and an error might not show to explain why the ad/campaign is not spending. This article will list and explain these reasons.

Your Google account has been suspended

While rare, it is possible that Google suspends your advertising account. This happens when your ads/campaigns break the Google Ads policies and/or Terms & Conditions. The following 2 articles explain in-dept what you are and are not allowed to do: Google Ads policies and Terms & Conditions.

If you see your accounts have stopped spending completely, you can ask our support for help and we will see if a suspension might be the reason for the campaigns not spending. Please do note, we cannot assist you if you choose to break the rules and guidelines set by Google. We recommend following these rules as it will ensure your accounts are not suspended & your results improved.

Your budget is exhausted/reached your spend limit

As you might know, you can let us create an ad account for you in case you do not have one yet. Following this, you can top up the ad account by transferring budget into the Google account. As this amount will be used for your Google campaigns; if you run out of budgetyour campaigns will be stopped as well.

However, it is important to note that Google does not spend your whole budget and then instantly stops spending. It could be that Google slows down the spending of the last amount of budget and spread it out over a few days.

For example, I top up my Google wallet with 100 euros and I have a daily spend of 20 euros. The first few days Google will spent approx 20 euros per day, but when I have 20 euros left Google will likely not spend it all in one day but spread out the last 20 euros over multiple days.

Thus, we recommend to ensure you have at least 2 times your daily spend in your wallet. If you have a daily spend of 50 euros, we would recommend having at least 100 euros in your Google Wallet.

Your ad is not showing

There are certain reasons for ads not showing on Google Search anymore. However, most of the time it boils down to 2 issues; Your bid is too low, your Qaulity score is too low. The following article explains more in-dept what these two issues mean and how they can be improved: Ad not showing.
